Drones in the Construction Sector
Construction is booming in 2023, and associated fields are estimated to grow at a healthy rate over the next five years. Nearly every field in construction can benefit from the data provided by drone systems. This data will be useful in every stage of the process, from pre-bid to compliance once the job is complete. Not only is drone data likely to be more accurate than that captured by traditional surveying techniques, but it is also captured at a rate that a person performing the task on foot could not compete with. Let's look at some data on US growth analysis.
Overall, there is stable growth across the board, with drones specifically expected to explode over the next decade.
So, how can these fields benefit from drones? Civil engineers will have accurate maps they can use for their designs and to track project progress. Surveyors and mappers can completely change the way they perform their jobs by completing in minutes or hours which used to take days or weeks. Roofers can create 3D models of roofs without the need to climb on the roof, saving time and money, and increasing personnel safety. Architects can use 3D scans of already completed buildings as reference and scans of ongoing projects to solve issues in real-time. At what stages could drone services be utilized?
Short answer? Every stage. Starting with pre-bid, drones are used for estimations (surveying, concept & design), site planning, and procurement. During construction, drones can assist with managing earthworks (cut/fill analysis, stockpile measurements), tracking site progress (comparing as-designed to as-built), site planning (safety, economics & logistics, transportation), inspections (buildings, thermal/HVAC), documentation (3D as-builts, marketing collateral, liability), and warranty fulfillment. At every stage, drones perform more efficiently than traditional methods.
Without automation, I was able to scan 60 acres in 1.5 hours using my DJI Mini 3 Pro. Using automated services would take less than 15 minutes. Performing this on foot could take an entire day to two weeks! In the growing world of automation, AI, & specialized services, efficiency is king.
Using Reclaim.AI to Build a Routine
As our day-to-day lives become increasingly busy and complex, it's becoming more challenging to manage our time effectively. With so many tasks to complete, deadlines to meet, and appointments to attend, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed. However, with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and related technologies, there are now tools available to help us manage our time more efficiently.
One such tool is Reclaim.ai. Reclaim.ai is an AI-powered schedule builder that streamlines your day-to-day routine. It allows you to enter all the habits you want to do, the time windows you want to do them, how long they will take, their priority, and any tasks you have, and builds a schedule around them. This means that you can plan your day in advance, ensuring that you make the most of your time and stay on top of your to-do list.
One of the best things about Reclaim.ai is that it integrates seamlessly with your Google Calendar. This means that it can observe all your appointments, meetings, and events and plan around them accordingly. For example, if you have a meeting scheduled for 2 pm, Reclaim.ai will ensure that your other tasks are scheduled around it, so you don't have to worry about double-booking or missing important appointments.
Another great feature of Reclaim.ai is that it can integrate with other productivity apps like Todoist. This means that you can manage your to-do list and your schedule in one place, making it easier to stay on top of your tasks and commitments. And if things don't go as planned, you can update your calendar, and Reclaim.ai will move the tasks or habits to a new spot on your calendar.

A Week With Turtle
This week has been quite exhausting for me, which is why I decided to search for an AI system that could help me with my schedule. On a positive note, one of my cars that were in the shop is now out, allowing me to resume DoorDashing. However, in order to retain my Top Dasher status and have the freedom to make my own schedule, I need to complete 100 deliveries by the end of the month.
Apart from my work commitments, I've also been busy preparing for the arrival of our kittens. Two of our cats are pregnant, and I've been making spaces under our captain's bed for them to give birth. It's been a challenge finding the right spot for them, but I'm glad I was able to create a comfortable and safe environment for them to bring their kittens into the world.
Regarding my personal life, I decided to take a break from my usual routine and return to an old place of solace. I relaxed a bit by playing Total War: Warhammer, it turned out to be a really fun game. In the past, I would have spent 6-14 hours a day playing a game like this, burning away my days. However, I only played for 8 hours this week. While this may not seem like a lot to some, I've refrained from gaming entirely for several months to focus on getting Turtle Drone Solutions off the ground.
Speaking of Turtle Drone Solutions, I'm thrilled to announce that I've joined Steve Carty's mentorship program. I'm eager to see what kind of work I can do with Steve in a one-on-one setting. Watching his YouTube content alone has greatly improved my skills and creative eye as a photographer. Being a part of his program is a great opportunity for me to learn and grow as an entrepreneur.
In addition to joining the mentorship program, I've also found a local drone business that will be offering me smaller projects on a sub-contractor basis. The business is starting to gain traction, and I'm excited to take on more projects and expand my skills as a drone pilot.
Overall, this week has been a mix of challenges and exciting developments. Despite feeling tired and overwhelmed at times, I'm proud of what I've accomplished and excited about what's to come.
