Overcoming Personal Inhibitions
One of the most challenging things in life is overcoming personal inhibitions. It requires immense effort and self-awareness, and often, it is a journey that lasts a lifetime. I, too, have to conquer myself, and my biggest challenge is my deep-rooted fear of success and the amount of work it will bring. This fear is nothing new for me; Imposter syndrome has plagued me since middle school, and I have never felt ready to take the next step. I fear putting myself out there for others to see and criticize, and I lack confidence in my own knowledge and skills. However, I've realized that to achieve success, I need to overcome these inhibitions and fears.
Despite the challenges I face, I am scraping and clawing my way through my own inhibitions and fears, thanks to the support of my wonderful wife and the Carty Crew (Steve Carty's community) cheering me on. Their unwavering support gives me the strength to keep going, even when I feel like giving up.
A Week with Turtle
This week, my family and I worked on landscaping the front of our house. The area was long overgrown, and it needed a lot of work and love. My biggest project was trimming the Cape snapdragon hedges. However, I can only work so much before the dumpster is full, and I have to wait until trash day to resume. It's a slow process, but it's worth it to see the transformation of our home.
I'm slowly working myself into a routine as a freelancer, but with two small kids running around and needing attention, it's rather challenging. My current routine looks like this:
The blank spaces in my schedule are when I can work on business admin, shoot, edit, study, stream, do housework, go grocery shopping, hang out with the family, and relax. It's a lot to keep track of, but I'm determined to build a consistent schedule for shooting, business admin, and streaming. However, I can't do that until I've raised the necessary funds via DoorDash and grants. For now, the grind continues!
